Mario Borazio began practising optometry in 1984 since graduating from the University of Melbourne. He began work in the city, and in 1985 saw an opportunity to open a private practice in Melton. Melton Optical opened its doors in September 1985 and Mario has been practising there ever since. In 2001 he underwent further study to be able to prescribe drugs for many common eye conditions. In 2004-2005 he undertook a postgraduate degree in Advanced Clinical Optometry to further develop his skills. In 2006 he studied full-time to obtain a Diploma in Clinical Audiology and in 2008 completed a Master of Audiology.

Our goal is to provide the people of Melton with the best possible eyecare, offering a truly personal service. In order to do this Mario regularly attends professional continuing education seminars to keep abreast of the latest developments in optometry.

Our practice is equipped with the latest technologies to detect eyediseases such as glaucoma, cataracts and age-related macular degeneration. We have a retinal camera and automated visual field analyser, which we provide at no charge to the patient. Mario has extensive experience in providing assessments for laser refractive surgery and in providing eye health assessments for diabetics.

We also provide a free service for frames adjustments and minor repairs to your glasses, even if they were purchased elsewhere. Please contact us if you have any questions about your eyes, glasses or contact lenses.
